New Yorkers love their movies! What else would you expect from Woody Allen's home town? While you can find mainstream theaters in almost every neighborhood, NYC also hosts alternative movies, as well as a wide network of film-makers to be.
Many of the movie theaters in New York show popular releases that are affiliated with the big Hollywood movie production houses (UA, MGM, Columbia Pictures, etc). You can usually see movies from noon to midnight at these theaters for $12 a ticket.
